๐Ÿšจ SCAM WARNING for Content Creators, Cosplayers & Influencers. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

Aloha Geckos! I’m back! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸฆŽ

Because apparently, the grift never sleeps… ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Thereโ€™s a new scam slithering into inboxesโ€”and itโ€™s dressed to impress. ๐Ÿ This one isnโ€™t your usual โ€œHello Dear Beneficiaryโ€ disaster. No, this scam came tailored, fluffed, and flatteredโ€ฆ and it even knew my cosplay brand name.

โš ๏ธ Heads upโ€”thereโ€™s a new scam making the rounds, and itโ€™s targeting people under the guise of an “exclusive invite” to a Call Her Daddy live broadcast.
I just got one, and Iโ€™ll admit itโ€”this one made me blink twice. It was eerily convincing, oddly flattering, and weirdly professional. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ

So Iโ€™m breaking it down here so nobody else gets bamboozled.

๐Ÿ“จ Hereโ€™s the Scam Email That Slid Into My Inbox – Having, as the kids say, “Main Character Energy:”

๐Ÿง  Why This One Made Me Think Twice

Iโ€™ve seen enough scam emails in my life to wallpaper a friggen house ๐Ÿ  with them. Most are full of typos, random capitalization, and vibes that scream โ€œNigerian Prince Energy.๐Ÿซ…โ€ But this one?

โœ… Well-written
โœ… Specific to my brand
โœ… Used actual things I talk about (hello, โ€œCositivityโ€!)
โœ… Offered a big paycheck ($4k?? Sir, I ain’t famous.)
โœ… Name-dropped Spotify and Alex Cooper for that influencer sparkle โœจ

They didnโ€™t just guess. They clearly skimmed my website or social bios and handpicked juicy details to make this scam feel tailored. They speifically touched on my Cositivity section here on this website!

๐Ÿค– AI-Powered and Extra Bold

Letโ€™s talk tech:
These scammers arenโ€™t writing this stuff, theyโ€™re using AI tools to generate believable, polished emails with scary accuracy.

These scams now come with:

  • ๐Ÿ’ป AI-generated copy that sounds real
  • ๐Ÿง  Personalized details from your public pages
  • ๐Ÿชค A tone that flatters your ego juuuust enough to make you click

๐Ÿ‘‰ Turns out, the real con isnโ€™t at the conventionโ€”itโ€™s in your inbox ๐Ÿ’Œ, and itโ€™s powered by AI ๐Ÿค–.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ How to Armor Up (Without Needing +5 Wisdom)

Hereโ€™s how to protect your creative butt from this nonsense:

  • 1๏ธโƒฃ Don’t let flattery fog your brain
Yes, youโ€™re amazing. No, that doesnโ€™t mean a random Gmail account is offering you $4,000 to talk about cosplay and trauma on Zoom.
  • 2๏ธโƒฃ Check the senderโ€™s email
Spoiler: Spotify is not emailing you from a Gmail address that sounds like a fake Hollywood manager.
  • 3๏ธโƒฃ Search before you scream
Google a few lines of the email. Thatโ€™s how I found Candy Keane from Geek Mamas, who documented the exact same scam. Itโ€™s like a cosplay con buddy warning you before you glue your fingers together.
  • 4๏ธโƒฃ Trust your gut. Then trust your Google.
Something feel off? Donโ€™t click anything. Donโ€™t reply. Ask a friend. Ask the internet. Ask your cat. ๐Ÿˆ
  • 5๏ธโƒฃ Keep your personal info on lock
No ID, no contracts, no banking infoโ€”unless you’ve verified the heck out of it.

๐Ÿงพ And Finallyโ€”Letโ€™s Talk About What I Found

Whenever I get an email that feels a little โœจ too โœจ good to be true, I do my homework. And this time? I found a fantastic blog post by Candy Keane from Geek Mamas that called out this exact scam, word-for-word. She also took it way farther than I did!

๐Ÿ”— Read her full post here:

Iโ€™m sharing it now in hopes of raising awarenessโ€”because if it hasnโ€™t hit your inbox yet, it very well might.

๐Ÿงต TL;DR: Scammers Got Smart, But Weโ€™re Smarter

  • Theyโ€™re using AI ๐Ÿง
  • Theyโ€™re pretending to be brands we know ๐Ÿค–
  • Theyโ€™re studying your content and getting creepily specific ๐Ÿ‘€
  • And theyโ€™re hoping your excitement will outweigh your skepticism ๐Ÿ’ธ

Donโ€™t fall for it. Protect your brand. And always check twice before you hit reply.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Seen This Scam? Letโ€™s Warn Each Other

If youโ€™ve seen thisโ€”or anything like itโ€”drop a comment, tag a friend, or share this post. The cosplay and creator communities deserve better than digital catfish in podcast form.

Stay fierce, stay safe, and stay skeptical out there. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธโœจ๐ŸฆŽ
